Born in Chicago, Sara first discovered her passion for cake art when she was 15 years old. After she graduated high school, Sara attended The French Pastry School in Chicago and completed the La 'Art Du Gateau program. After graduation, she started working at Amy Beck Cake Design, one of the premier cake bakeries in Chicago. Achieving the position of head baker after only two years Sara is responsible for the production of every cake coming out of Amy Beck Cake Design. In addition to her baking, Sara also decorates multiple cakes every week. She is able to accomplish this large workload through her hard working and determined personality which is key to her success. One day, Sara hopes to be as well known for her beautiful works of edible art as her cake decorating idol, Duff Goldman of Charm City Cakes. Sara was recently married in November of 2015 to Matthew Baumer. Sara made both the cake and thousands of sugar flowers that adorned the center pieces and bouquets. Her talent made that night one to remember for ever.
